In the early 20th century, many German Jews identified themselves as Germans first and Jews second. They were proud patriots, serving in the Kaiser’s army, contributing to the government, and believing firmly in the future of Germany. If you had asked them then whether something as horrific as the Holocaust could ever happen, they would have laughed.
 

Today, many Jews in America, Canada, Europe, and around the world similarly believe that such atrocities could never be repeated. But just as the proud Jewish patriots of the 1910s and 1920s never imagined the rise of the Holocaust, we must not be blind to the dangers that might be lurking on the horizon.
 

The recent events of October 7th serve as a chilling reminder that hatred and violence can erupt suddenly, even in places that seem secure. The atrocities faced by our grandparents at Auschwitz could very well come to fruition in the West if we don’t act to protect ourselves, our communities, and our future.
 

Metzad is an organization dedicated to creating strong and committed Zionists who will safeguard Jewish communities worldwide. The goal is to build a foundation for our survival, security, and dignity, starting with a robust infrastructure of protection, education, and advocacy.

Through Metzad, we aim to:
 

• Establish Metzad Chapters: Create chapters of Metzad across the world with weekly in-person meetings. These gatherings will focus on studying Torah, discussing Zionism, and building a network of like-minded individuals who are committed to the future of the Jewish people.
   

• Train and Protect: Host bi-weekly meetings, including training at shooting ranges to build self-defense skills and ensure that members are prepared to protect themselves and others if necessary.
   

• Counter Anti-Semitism: Actively expose and confront anti-Semites online and in person. Through public campaigns and vigilant monitoring, we aim to hold those spreading hate accountable while protecting Jewish communities from harm.
   

• Promote Aliyah: Encourage Jews to make Aliyah and move to Israel, strengthening the Jewish homeland and creating a unified, secure future for our people.
   

• Provide Security: Establish security measures for synagogues worldwide, particularly on Shabbat, ensuring that worshippers can pray and gather without fear. We will also work to ensure that observant Jews can walk safely in their neighborhoods and communities.
   

To make this vision a reality, we need your support. We are working to establish both 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations that will help us raise the necessary funds and achieve our mission.
